WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Stockman seeks to cut off federal funding to states that register gun owners or confiscate any gun from any citizen who may legally bear arms.

“In states like New York, gun grabbing politicians are using gun owner registries to hunt down law-abiding gun owners and demand they surrender their personal firearms,” said Stockman.  “My bill ends anti-gun tyranny by cutting off the funds gun grabbers use to implement their tracking and confiscation schemes.”

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Steve Stockman (R-TX 36) introduced the Safe Military Bases Act Thursday repealing the ban on the carrying of firearms on military bases.  Since the Clinton-era ban there have been two mass shootings on military bases.

“Our disarmed military bases are vulnerable targets for terrorists, as we saw in Fort Hood and the Navy Yard.  Despite that, soldiers trained to use guns cannot carry on base.  The result is two mass killings where defenseless soldiers had to watch as their friends were murdered,” said Stockman.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Stockman (R-Texas 36) has signed on to a letter to President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry demanding they not sign the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

“The right to keep and bear arms is granted by God and protecting from government aggression by the Constitution.  It is not subject to the whims of global totalitarians massed in New York City,” said Stockman.  “I oppose any UN treaty touching the right to keep and bear arms.  It’s beyond time for the United States to withdraw from the UN.”
